Learn

The Learn feature in HulerHub is an LMS extension that lets admins create tailored, audience-managed learning content, integrated with Hub tiles.

Updated over 4 months ago

Learn is a Huler branded LMS that sits directly within Huler Hub in the existing Tile infrastructure. Our LXP allows admins to create tailored learning in a variety of a methods that can be audience managed to suit the needs of specific teams within your organisation. Learn delivers similar functionality to Hub and acts as an extension which works coherently with our other products.

Homepage

The Learn dashboard houses relevant boxsets, SCORM items, video content and more. This content is audience managed so users can only see content that is relevant to the audiences they are in. The focus of the dashboard is the featured content, set by admin and filtered by audience. Users can also prominently view:

  • New content (sorted by date CREATED)

  • Popular content (sorted by most LIKED)

  • Trending content (sorted by most CLICKED)

The carousel displays 10 items, but clicking view more will show everything in that category.

There is also a ‘Pick up where you left off’ carousel. This will show any content you have started but not completed. This will primarily be Video, SCORM and boxset content, but any item where you have viewed the item but not completed the item will appear here (ie you have clicked on the item and viewed the landing page, but not opened the link, accepted the info item, downloaded the file etc)

Additionally, there is an area at the bottom of the dashboard for content that is leaving soon. This is all content with an expiry (active end date) set.

Toolbar

From the bottom toolbar users can navigate to (from left to right):

  • Learn: takes users back to LEARN dashboard, wherever they are (you need to click the top left logo to return to Hub)

  • Liked: Content that users have liked

  • Recent: This opens three options, recently viewed, completed and added

  • Mandatory: Shows all mandatory items users have to complete

  • Search: Searches learn items and boxsets

Items

Content is added to learn as items. Each item has its own settings and tile representations. Each item needs to be assigned an audience or made global to be visible. There are different types of items:

  • Text/Info items: These are read only items (like articles), with an ‘accept’ button at the end. This must be clicked to complete the item. This could be useful information you need to read before embarking on other content, a declaration of understanding, or just helpful text based content.

  • Link items: These are equivalent to bookmark tiles. Clicking on the link ‘completes’ the item, regardless of what the link is. These could contain links to helpful resources on other sites, or external courses.

  • Files/Upload items: Most document/image file types are permitted, and these are equivalent to upload tiles. These must be downloaded to be completed, or, in the case of a PDF, downloaded OR read to the last page in the browser pdf viewer. You can still view and read downloaded/completed pdf files in the browser, and the browser will save your progress if you exit and reopen it.

  • SCORM items: These contain a .zip SCORM file. We currently support SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004

Boxsets

Boxsets are ways of sorting content, like a collection. Like items, these have their own settings and tile representations, and need to have an audience assigned or be made global to be visible. Items in boxsets can further be sorted into seasons. Seasons help to sort content in a boxset, but don’t have their own tile representation, or visibility settings outside of the boxset. Think of these more as a way to sort and order content within a boxset than a collection in and of themselves.
