What is an audience?

An audience is a group or collection of users that share a defined characteristic. An example of this could be people within a certain team: A, B or C. Another example could be their geographical location: Europe, North America or Asia.

How are audiences made?

In short, audiences are manually created by selecting specific criteria for your users to match. This criteria comes from manual entry or a CSV upload for example. More information on that can be found here:

How are audiences used?

Audiences are used to direct desired content to a group or collection of people that may have a need to interact with said content.

For example, you may have a number of new starters to your business, they can be set up as an audience with which to share onboarding information and tasks.
